The city of Corning is located in Tehama County, and about 19 miles south of Red Bluff. The population was 7,663 at the 2010 census, up from 6,741 at the 2000 census. Incorporated in 1907, Corning provides a full range of municipal services including Police, Fire, Parks and Recreation, Library, Public Works and a Municipal Airport. Corning is perhaps best known for its award-winning olive products. Agriculture plays an important role in this rural community. Other important crops include almonds, walnuts and peaches, as well as cattle and sheep ranching.
